Radda Launches Climate Change Fight with Tree Planting

State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has launched a tree planting campaign in Daura, aiming to plant 10,000 tree seedlings across the state to combat climate change.

The initiative, in collaboration with the Ahmed Usman Pure Life Foundation, allocated 3,000 tree seedlings to Daura, with 1,000 primary school pupils receiving seedlings and 5,000 naira to nurture them.

Governor Radda emphasized the importance of involving youth in environmental conservation and investing in future generations.

The Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk, expressed gratitude and encouraged active participation in planting and nurturing trees.

The State Commissioner of Environment reported that over 3,000 tree seedlings have been raised and distributed across the state, with close supervision to ensure 80% reach maturity.

This initiative sets a precedent for other states in the fight against climate change, promoting environmental conservation and sustainable development.
